You can most likely use a Sidewinder with the hitch you currently have. You can replace the slide assembly on your Reese hitch with the standard legs, part # RP30727, which would be the safest option. Or you could retain the slider and keep it locked in the towing position, being aware that moving the slider with the Sidewinder installed can be very dangerous. A Sidewinder moves the pivot point back 22 inches to provide additional clearance needed when making tight turns. We don't carry any type of extension to improve the turning clearance with your fifth wheel trailer. Pin boxes are designed to be direct replacements and have the same dimensions as the original. Normally, a Sidewinder pin box is what I would recommend but there isn't a Sidewinder to replace your Atwood AB-72.

The Trailair Flex Air Fifth Wheel Pin Box # LC328492 is a direct replacement for a Lippert 1621 pin box and is the same length from bolt holes to king pin. The shock in front may be a bit further forward but the king pin is in the same location. The Flex Air is not available in other lengths.

A rotating pin box like the Lippert Turning Point will relocate the pivot point between the hitch and pin box 22 inches rearward, from the point where the king pin locks into the hitch jaws to the point where the pin box turret attaches to the 5th wheel.
